Career Assessment

PERSONALITY
General Description:
NFPs are creative and complex. INFPs hold harmony and friendship close to their hearts. In their own quiet way, they want their work, friends and school to reflect these values. When they focus on these values, they can be inspired for short periods of time, especially if they work by themselves. INFPs are quiet and adaptable; they won't easily share their inner selves (or their sense of humor) with others unless they have built a trusting relationship. They will likely be bored quickly by routine jobs that don't relate to their inner values of harmony and friendship.

Summary of Careers
INFPs need to believe in their work; they need their work to reflect their values of unity and friendship. Their work often is about improving other people's lives through their verbal skills. They work best when they have the freedom to creatively respond to the needs of the moment for short periods of time. The type of careers that honor these traits include fine arts, counselling, writing, teaching (art, music and drama), library work and entertainment.

Your Personality Motto

You belong to a group of iNtuitive-Feelers
known as the Compassionate Innovators.
Intuitive-types prefer to go beyond their direct experience and focus on the meaning of the information. This gives them a "big picture" outlook on life. They tune into underlying patterns so they tend to be future-oriented and therefore become creative and innovative.

Feeling-types make decisions using their own personal criteria. This often means taking into account the impact that decision will have on someone's life. They tend to treat everyone individually; they value mercy. Feelers ask these questions when deciding: "How do I feel about it? How will it affect someone else?"

2) How have the ideas you personally believe to be true come into your mind, your head? Are your own ideas susceptible to change?
As stated in the text, most of the ideas found within someone’s mind are not of their own origin. Most of the things we hear and believe are heard from somewhere else, studied over, and then repeated by us. I believe this applies to me as well. All my life I have had ...others of more experience that I have admired and listened to-teachers, parents, friends, and family. I’ve gone to school for 12 years now and tried to learn other skills outside of an academic setting for just as long, if not longer. My ideas are most definitely susceptible to change. Every day, I learn more and gain more experience. Especially now that I’m attending such a diverse university, I meet new people who have brought their own background and knowledge and are willing to share these fairly intimate parts of who they are. I go to school and church, meet with friends and constantly think “wow, I’ve never thought of it like that before now.” This is something that is helping me evolve and become perfected.

I might actually want to do this for my life....
